Our Bristol practice is on a major road leading south, the A37 or Wells Road. Having taken over in 2000 we feel we have a wonderful family practice that offers the best in everything it does. We are proud of the way we serve the local community and are very grateful for their support as we have developed the eye care and eye wear we offer.

Lynne completed her training at the West of England Eye Hospital coming second in the country in her professional exams. She worked in the multiple sector before setting up and running eye clinics in the shanty towns in Paraguay and Peru: areas that were not visited at the time by major eye charities due to the threat of terrorism! Since taking over the Wells Road practice in 2000 she has become a vocal advocate for access to high quality eye-care for all. In this time she has worked in Bristol Eye Hospital specialising in contact lenses and low vision. She is joint secretary of the Local Optical Committee.
Gerard completed his professional training at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He has worked for many multiple and independent practices as well as specialist centres such as laser eye surgery providers. He currently works one day a week in the specialist Glaucoma and Cataract clinics at Bristol Eye Hospital. As joint secretary of the Local Optical Committee he sits on health board work-streams aimed at improving eye care provision. Gerard is passionate about improving services and has been instrumental in developing the specialist clinics at Lynne Fernandes Optometrists.
