We took over our Nailsea practice in 2007. True to our ethos, we invested in cutting edge clinical equipment, staff training and eye care services. We then began to introduce slightly more adventurous product ranges.
The Nailsea practice serves the whole community and part of our mission is to develop practices that engage with and help all of that community. We are very happy that more children and young families than ever before are being recommended to attend for our unique eye care in Nailsea.

Jo has previously worked for a large multiple optician, starting as an optical advisor and going on to qualify as a Dispensing optician and becoming practice manager. During which time she became an NVQ assessor for optical advisors. She joined us as Dispensing optician manager in 2011. Her aim is to bring high quality customer service, eyecare and eyewear to Nailsea.
Lynne completed her training at the West of England Eye Hospital coming second in the country in her professional exams. She worked in the multiple sector before setting up and running eye clinics in the shanty towns in Paraguay and Peru: areas that were not visited at the time by major eye charities due to the threat of terrorism! Since taking over the Wells Road practice in 2000 she has become a vocal advocate for access to high quality eye-care for all. In this time she has worked in Bristol Eye Hospital specialising in contact lenses and low vision. She is joint secretary of the Local Optical Committee.
Gerard completed his professional training at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He has worked for many multiple and independent practices as well as specialist centres such as laser eye surgery providers. He currently works one day a week in the specialist Glaucoma and Cataract clinics at Bristol Eye Hospital. As joint secretary of the Local Optical Committee he sits on health board work-streams aimed at improving eye care provision. Gerard is passionate about improving services and has been instrumental in developing the specialist clinics at Lynne Fernandes Optometrists.
Kerri is Business manager of our three practices and has a degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing and Management. Following graduation she trained in management at Boots Opticians before being picked to open and lead a new store. She is a bright, bubbly person who enjoys working with both staff and patients. Kerri has managed our practices since 2004 leading us through major reorganisations such as the refitting of the Wells Road practice and acquisition of Nailsea and Gloucester Road. She loves the freedom of independent practice, knowing that she can offer the best product to every patient.
Melanie joined us in December 2008 and has a natural flair for fashion and design plus a love of interacting with our patients.
