Lynne Fernandes is a Director and Principal Optometrist at Lynne Fernandes Optometrists, an award-winning independent practice group serving Bristol, Nailsea, and Wiltshire. She has over 25 years of experience, and was named Optometrist of the Year 2016 at the Optician Awards, after being recognised for her outstanding clinical practice. Under her guidance, the practice has also won Family Practice of the Year, celebrating its long-standing service to generations of families across Bristol.

Lynne has a special interest in myopia control, children’s vision care, complex contact lens fitting and dry eye - leading one of the region’s most advanced clinics. Together with her husband and co-director Gerard Fernandes, Lynne has grown the practice from a single location to five thriving clinics in Wells Road, Gloucester Road, Nailsea, Bradford-on-Avon and Trowbridge.

Lynne regularly contributes to professional journals such as Optometry Today and Optician Magazine, and has appeared on BBC Radio Bristol to raise awareness about eye health. She is a registered optometrist with the General Optical Council and a member of the College of Optometrists. She also works as an Associate Lecturer at UWE and is the Optometric Advisor for NHSE South West PLDP. She has previously worked in Optometry at Exeter WEEU Hospital and Bristol Eye Hospital, as well as being a key member of Avon LOC for over 25 years.
